To visit Ecomuseum La Alcogida is a good way to know the past of the inhabitants of Fuerteventura.
The Ecomuseum is intended to express with seven houses the salient points of the island such as livestock, agriculture, handicrafts.
The museum can give us an account of the resilience of the population, in the natural environment in which it is located and also to know the kind of life people who lived there had.
The constructions of the houses were of materials that the territory gave them such as: stone, lime, sand and mud. These constructions belonged to the owners of farmland and livestock.
"The Ecomuseum Alcogida" has developed several activities with the aim to involve the island population and visitors. Proof of this is the creation of spaces to perform various traditional games, social space as “parrandas” (feasts), tasting traditional food and artisan bread prepared in the ecomuseum.
