Jandía spreads throughout the town Pájara and begins where land is narrower in Fuerteventura, in the isthmus La Pared, where there are just six miles from shore and the coast and you can see the sea on both sides of the island from east to west.
In the Nature Park Jandía is the highest peak on the island: La Zarza, with 807 metres.
Another important thing is that the largest number of endemic species of Fuerteventura is located in the Jandía peninsula. In wildlife, excel the ornithological value: kestrels, “tarabillas”, “hubaras”, “aguilillas”, “guirres”, etc... They are also characteristic of the park lizards, “lisas” and “perenquenes”. The fauna is complemented with a wide range of invertebrates, especially insects.
