Costa Teguise Lanzarote.

Besides Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca is Costa Teguise one of the touristic urban centers of Lanzarote, is on the coast of the municipality of Teguise.

The main tourist attractions of Costa Teguise are its beaches and its location on the island. From its beaches we like to highlight "Bastián Beach," "Punta Jablillo Beach " and "Cucharas Beach”.

Costa Teguise is close to the tourist centres of attraction as "Jameos del Agua," "Cave of the Greens", "Cactus Garden" and "Mirador del Rio". In the town Teguise, every sunday the most famous Market of the island take place, if you come to Lanzarote do not miss the Market Teguise. From the beaches of Costa Teguise we will highlight their differences. Bastián Beach is a quiet beach of black sand, with little waves and facilities to grill and spend the day

with the family, is the least visited one of the three major beaches, therefore it is the most recommended for those wishing to avoid crowds of people, protect themselfs from the sun under palm trees and hear the sound of the waves. In the peninsula of Costa Teguise we find Playa Punta Jablillo, it is a small and very beautiful beach, with white sand and turquoise green sea. Costa Teguise is characterized by strong winds but the Hotel Occidental protects this beach from the wind. Punta Jablillo has been made for families and for the enjoyment of children.

Las Cucharas beach is the main beach of Costa Teguise, in the afternoon with rather strong winds for the enjoyment of lovers of windsurfing and surfing, but also a beach recommended for kids and grown-ups because here you will find waves.

Walking from the Cucharas beach to the north, then turning in front of the Hotel Melia we get to the Charcos beach, This beach is small and not very crowded, it has become the meeting place for residents.

It is common to see, mostly young people, in entertaining beach volley matches, playing soccer or practicing windsurfing.

The entire coast of Costa Teguise is united by a promenade, named Avenida de los Cocoteros, from beach Bastian to beach Los Charcos . We recommend travel by foot or bicycle.

The commercial area of Costa Teguise was found in the Avenida del Jablillo, from the junction with Avenida Del Mar until the end of the peninsula that separates the Beach Punta Jablillo with Playa de Las Cucharas, called Punta de Tope.

Avenida del Mar is also a commercial area, from the Aulagas street to the roundabout where Avenida Del Jablillo is born. We find bars, restaurants, supermarkets and a wide variety of stores in this area.

A background to consider, is Costa Teguise one of the summer residence of the kings of Spain, known as "La Mareta, this residence was a gift from the King of Jordan to the Kings of Spain on the occasion of their wedding.

Also found in Costa Teguise are two theme parks, the “Aquarium” of Lanzarote, more than 1 million liters of water inhabited by hundreds of sea creatures that you can learn from and enjoy from a glass tunnel and the water park “Aqua Park”, the latter is the only one of its kind in Lanzarote, one of the most outstanding offer entertainment on the island, we recommend arriving in the morning before 12:00 because the park is big and requires a whole day.
