„ Hervidero “ means as much as „surge“ and refers to the whole South-West coast where the waves dash against the magma arms that once came down to the ocean and today are solid rocks occupying a broad area. The power of the waves allows the water to climb up to the surface of the rocks disappearing in the holes and cavities in there. To watch the water run up the rocks making an ear-battering noise just as it was boiling ( hirviendo ) seems a quite great spectacle.
